Serene Elgon Health Centre is being developed in Eldoret as a place where healthcare can feel calm, connected and human. Our name, identity and approach all come from that idea.

Our Name and our Story
"Serene" speaks to calmness, peace and gentleness. "Elgon" connects the centre to place, nature and the mountain that gives the region its name. Together, the name expresses the kind of environment we want Serene Elgon to represent: grounded, reassuring and connected to the people and place around it.
Care that heals.
Our slogan
"Care That Heals" is the central expression of the Serene Elgon identity. It reflects our belief that healing is not only about medical treatment. It also begins with how people are received, spoken to, supported and cared for.
The Swahili expression Utunzi Uponyao carries the same meaning and warmth.

Where we are now
The hospital's ground floor is live. Current work is focused on finishing the entrance and front of the building, alongside the finishing of interiors.

Rooted in Eldoret.
Serene Elgon is being developed in Eldoret, within the wider North Rift and Western Kenya healthcare context. The name itself carries a relationship to place through Elgon and to the natural qualities of calm, groundedness and renewal that shape the identity.
